Why Stage?

Staged homes sell faster than un-staged homes. Why? Because potential homebuyers are able to imagine themselves better in a staged home. Below is a list of simple DIY steps to help get your house ready to sell.

Curb Appeal

The outside of your house is the first thing people see when they pull up to your property. That's why it's important to consider your house's curb appeal. Make a good first impression to potential buyers. You don't need anything fancy?a freshly cut lawn, clean walkways, and maybe some flowers to decorate the entranceway. And don't forget about the basics. It's easy to overlook the small stuff but you want to make sure things like garbage and recycling are neatly put away.

De-clutter

Get rid of anything you don't need! We've all accumulated clutter over the years. Now is the time to donate it or have a garage sale. Whatever you choose to do, just get rid of it! Potential buyers don't want to look at your stuff, they want to look at your house. So make sure you are really showcasing the property and not what's in it.

Finish all those unfinished projects

We all have lists of jobs we never got around to or never completed. Now is the time to revisit those lists. Tie up loose ends and commit to getting around to those tasks you never started.

Clean

I can't stress enough how important it is to keep your house clean while it's on the market. If you've taken the time to de-clutter the space, you can't skimp out now. Dust, scrub, and scrub some more. This is especially important for open houses where you are likely to get higher levels of traffic. Make sure these potential buyers see your house at its best.

Add light

Open blinds and curtains. Turn on some lamps. Light has a tremendous effect on our mood, so it's no surprise that a house that is bright gives buyers the feeling of a warm and open space.

There are plenty of staging tips and tricks you can use to help get you a quick sale at top dollar. Remember, a lot of the work of selling your house occurs before you actually put it on the market. Preparation is the key to making sure your house is ready to sell.
